Vintage Motorcars is very proud to present this 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais Hurst / Olds.
Here is truly one of my favorite cars of all time. It may not be the fastest car in my garage, but it just has such a cool look to it, and this one is in fantastic shape! There were only 3,500 examples of these cars, and very few today show and drive as well as this one! With only 73,900 miles on the odometer; this car was only enjoyed 2,100 miles per year therefore proving it to be treated like a collector from day one. As if you needed more proof... I have over $7,500 in maintenance receipts over the course of the last 3 years! And that doesn't include the suspension upgrades I mention later in the description.
Featuring the original, and very smooth running 5.0 liter V-8 engine with 4bbl carb, and of course the original and durable 200-4R automatic transmission that both perform just like they should! The 3.73 rear axle ratio gives it some nice pep off the line! Of course with these cars you also get the super-unique Lightning Rod Shifters.
The exterior sheet metal is all original, and the paint shines beautifully after one quality re-spray. This car may be 34 years old, but it looks just as nice as it did when new. The Hurst Olds option is only available to 2 years, and my favorite is the '84 Silver over Black option!
Everything works just like it should including the A/C. All the gauges read correctly, and they are clear and bright. The original burgundy interior is in excellent condition, and only shows minor wear throughout. Most of these cars had issues with the headliner falling, so we had this one professionally re-done.
This car is sitting on a custom set of 17" Billet Specialties Street Lite wheels that perfectly compliment the car's heritage while still giving it a modern vibe, and are wrapped in an almost-new set of BFGoodrich G-Force rubber. But don't worry... the original wheels come with the car!
The real treat is all underneath the car. The previous owner didn't care for the typical "G-Body shuffle" while driving, so he opted for a set of Detroit Speed coilover springs with a 2" drop. Then he installed a set of Delco shocks, and added some new sway bar links. What a difference! This car literally floats down the road, and corners like a sports car!
It may not be as popular as some of the muscle cars of the 60's and 70's, but these cars are becoming more and more popular.
You don't have to take out a second mortgage to have a car that turns heads, and could possibly win a trophy at your local car show!
