Very RARE!!!

1970 Olds 442 - 4spd Convertible One of 549 made

Collector owned, this very well-known local car in the Olds community is being made available after a long tenure with its current owner. This is probably one of the finest driving 442 drop tops on the market today. This car was a recipient of a very nice “frame on” restoration about 7 years ago. The work put into this car is top notch as the owner is very particular about his cars. The work was done at East Coast Classic and Auto Restoration (Mission 442.com) in NH. They have done the restorations on the owner’s other 442’s and are noted as being one of the best Olds restoration shops in the Northeast.

The original color of this car was “Bamboo” but I think you’ll agree the change to Matador red is quite an upgrade! The black stripes and black soft top really enhance the overall look of this classic 70’s brawler. Inside this impressive Oldsmobile you'll find a correct Black interior that, in the realm of performance-focused muscle cars, is both classy and upscale. At the center of the car, correct, stainless-trimmed seats ride fresh carpet. At the sides of those seats, fresh door panels center familiar GM armrests in bright chrome handles, straight stainless trim and fresh wood applique. A wood-trimmed dash hangs deluxe Rallye Pac telemetry above the factory AM-FM audio. At the base of that dash, a factory console frames a legendary Hurst shifter. In front of the driver, a Sport Steering Wheel emblazoned with a bright rocket emblem.

Some of the car's highlights:

The car’s original engine was replaced very early on by a factory warranty replacement long block (1970 365hp 455). The original “E” heads, intake, carb (#7040253), distributor (#1111982), and exhaust manifolds are believed to be original to the car.

The Muncie M21 4-Speed and 3:42 Posi rear-end are original and were placed in the car as it rolled down the assembly line in 1970.

15” Chrome SS1 re-pops fill in the wheel wells nicely and the requisite BFG Radial T/A’s have under 10k on them. The exhaust has that classic 70’s Olds big block thunder emanating from the famous Olds 442 Trumpet exhaust tips.

The quality and reliability of this car will impress you. Its engine responsiveness and suspension ride quality will have you 2nd guessing that this car isn’t newer than it is – it’s that fast and tight! Seriously this car is a BLAST TO DRIVE! 100% operational, door buzzers, windows, locks, dash lights, radio, power top, etc.

EVERYTHING IS FULLY SORTED AND WORKS GREAT!

This car MUST BE SEEN to be believed, I've tried to take honest pictures and have over 100 of them for those that are interested in seeing them, I also have a video of the car running, please excuse its low quality. This car has only been driven 7,500 miles since it's completion, and is extremely fast!

We are presenting this car to those buyers that know what they want, and love to drive!

Please call if you are interested.

NO TRADES thank you...
