1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible with a documented 27K actual miles. It was one-family owned from 1972 -2008. It sold new at Tunmore Oldsmobile in Buffalo, New York, in June 1972 and then went to Florida where it was garaged 1974-2008. There are numerous owner documents and Florida State Inspection records documenting low mileage. A title change in 2008 shows 25,557 actual miles. Guy I bought it from believed he was the second owner. He provided a letter stating original low mileage.
The car has the original strong matching numbers 350 V8, automatic with console shift, sport steering wheel, tilt column, bucket seats, power steering, power front disc brakes, power top, deluxe light group, sport mirrors, and painted SS II rally wheels. It also has a modern “Oldsmobile” AM FM stereo radio with input line for an I Pod or MP3 player, and painted SS2 Rally Wheels. The second owner bought the car out of storage and did mechanical restoration consisting of new brakes and master cylinder, new power top motor, transmission was pulled and resealed, all new hoses, new aluminized dual exhaust system, new gas tank and sending unit, and radiator cleanout. He stated the car was stripped to bare metal, there was no panel or rust repair needed, and it was repainted Viking Blue with a clear coat. The car also has new carpet, new front bucket seat covers, new top with glass back window, and new BFG tires. There are receipts for most of this over the past 3-5 years.
The car drives very well and quiet, with no squeaks, creaks, or rattles. The dash and original glass is pristine. It still has the original rear GM spiral shock absorbers (Photo 22). The map light and seat belt warning buzzer/dash light still work. The paint is very very nice but there is a flaw on top of passenger front fender (some clear drops or blotches – see Photo 21), and there are a few stone chips from use. There is still some of the matching Viking blue paint if you want to correct this. The underside is very clean, with a mix of original paint and some undercoating.
This is about as close as you can get to a new 1972 Cutlass convertible. It has always been maintained and cherished, and has won awards at local shows. They are only low mileage once guys. Selling only because I just bought a low mileage 455 Cutlass convertible to restore. Reserve is very reasonable, especially compared to cars in the “classified” ads. No warranty and car is sold as is. Buyer must arrange and pay for his own shipping – I will assist with pickup. Car is located in Edmond, OK 73025.
