1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Additional Info:
Up for sale is a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass S. Car has a 455 cubic inch big block. Heads were ported & polished by Oldsmobile guru "Joe Mondello". Engine features forged, and studded bottom end with windage scraper. Top end is complimented with the aforementioned ported and polished "C" casting heads, and an Edelbrock Torker intake manifold. A Holley 750cfm vacuum secondary carburetor with a reusable air filter top off the engine. Exhaust is taken care of by Hooker Super Competition headers and Torque Tech dual 3" mandrel bent full aluminum exhaust. Engine ignition is handled by an MSD distributor & MSD 6AL ignition along with Taylor "409" 10mm race wires, and MSD Blaster coil. Cooling duties are taken care of with a Be Cool aluminum radiator. A Summit Racing Hi Tork mini starter start the big block with no hesitation. All engine, transmission, and fuel monitoring is done through Autometer pro comp gauges.
Shifting is handled by a B&M Hammer ratchet shifter. The shifter is connected to a Bowtie Overdrives 700r4 4 speed automatic transmission. Transmission features an electronic lock up switch for driving freeway grades. This keeps the converter locked up and transmission temps down. Speedo cable works but every once in awhile will bounce at 40mph. New speedo cable is available through Bowtie Overdrives. Rear end is a 12 bolt 3.73 positraction. Inland Driveline driveshaft with upgraded yolks has replaced the stock driveshaft.
Paint is Autumn Metallic and is in great shape. Features a 442 style fiberglass hood with chrome hood locks. Only small scratch located on passenger side fender. Vinyl top is in great shape. Top was replaced when car was painted. Side mirrors were filled in for a sleeker appearance.
Interior is original and still in good shape. A new carpet kit was just installed. The car is a factory A/C car but it does not have the engine A/C system installed.
Wheels are Weld draglites wrapped in BFGoodrich rubber. 225/60R15 on the fronts and meaty 275/60R15 on the rears.
Car is a great street car and is a head turner. Looks as good as it sounds! With a good set of sticky rear tires this car is capable of LOW 12 second quarter mile passes.
