I have been fortunate enough here lately to have come across a couple of these really really original cars and I feel very fortunate. This car is one of those cars. I will apologize up front for the quality of the pictures. They do not do the car any justice, I took them with my Iphone and I can’t get it to focus properly. The car is really nice and original and super clean and an absolute pleasure to drive. I can say with absolute confidence that if you want to fly in and drive it home I have no quams about you doing that no matter where you live. This car puts you back in time when you drive it and it truly gives you a feel of Oldsmobile luxury and comfort from back in the day. BID with confidence.
The Story
The car was purchased new right here in Richmond from Murray Oldsmobile in August of 1972. The purchase price was $4137.80. I have all of the original documentation with the car, from the sales invoice, the purchase order, the protecto-plate, the letter from the dealer ship service department, the original owners manual and a vin decode breaking down the VIN. I believe I am the 4th owner of the car and it appears the mileage is original at 104,445, which will go up as I drive it. It drives like it did when it left the dealership and has have to have been garaged because of the condition and the originality of the car. I would say car is a complete survivo, with the exception of one repaint done years ago.
The Body
The car retains all of its original sheet-metal and it is nice and straight and the gaps are very nice. There is no rust in the floors, trunk, rockers or any of those normal places. There a couple of very small places (bubbles) in the corners of the trunk lid, very very small and honestly I did not notice them when I purchased the car, only after I got to detailing the car did I notice them. The has been driven so there are a few chips and scratches but nothing I would say is major nor does it take away from the overall appearance of the car. Just know the car was not painted yesterday and it does have a few flaws. The underside of the doors . trunk and all are solid with no rust. Everything rubber wise is original, all of the door and trunk gaskets are original and look nice and are supple. All of the glass in the car is original even the windshield, all soft-ray tinted glass according to the build sheet. It has the “Access pack” which I assume is the lighting under the trunk and the hood. The car is equipped with A/C and it is all functional and I will have it serviced and charged on Thursday. It also has a aftermarket CD player hidden in the console with kickpanel speakers but the original AM deluxe radio still works. This car is really unmolested.
The Interior
The interior is original and in IMMACULATE condition. It is an original console and bucket seat car according to the build-sheet and they are present of course and super nice. The carpet is original and looks to have never seen much use. It is equipped with DELUXE LAPBELTS. It has a power top that works nicely and the top has been replaced and has a glass rear window. It is in super shape with all of the rubber and gaskets around the top in very nice shape. I also have the original Top Boot which is also in excellent shape. The windows roll up and down with ease and the doors shut with one finger. The interior is a Saddle color and looks great with the white exterior. You will notice someone added couple of aftermarket gauges. The trunk mat is original trunk retains its original spatter paint, the original spare and all jacking equipment are also present.
Drivetrain
The engine is the original Rocket 350 4 BBL engine and it really runs nice. It has been upgraded with a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and has a sound only an Oldsmobile can deliver. It holds great oil pressure and the temp stays under 180. If has new radiator, water pump and HEI distributor . Original 3 –speed auto handles the shifts and it as equipped from the factory with a 2.73 open differential. Power steering and disc brakes round out the options. I have installed new calipers on the front with new brake hoses.

On Apr-01-16 at 07:16:13 PDT, seller added the following information:
I wanted to add this information into the ad because I want to be as honest as possible with all of the potential bidders. Yesterday I took the car to the A/C shop to have the the system serviced and possibly charged so it would be in operating condition. Although everything is present and it is all in working condition there is a leak somewhere. After pulling a vacuum on the system them closing the system off to se if it would hold the vacuum it would not hold it. So there is a leak somewhere. I did not at that point have them charge the system because I knew it would leak out. I am going to leave that up to the new owner. He advised me the first step would be to replace any seal/orings and try to pull a vacuum again and see where we ended up. So that is what needs to be done. The compressor is functional and does not make any noise when engaged so it would be operational once charged and the leak is fixed. THANKS
