1962 Oldsmobile Jetfire (F-85)
Okay, I am not anexpert and not very good at doing a long description. Their is some very good articles on Ebay and the Internet and a website set up for Jetfire enthusiasts. Here is some information.
The 1962 Oldsmobile Jetfire has been restored from the ground up and stored inside. When we purchased the car it still had the original Turbo Charger from the factory installed. I believe we are the third owner. This car is truly unique. It’s the only vehicle known to exist which matches the color scheme of the original flyers and commercials introducing the car to the public. It has been garage kept since we bought the vehicle and we have documentation and receipts during the rebuilding process and some past history documents. We bought a new turbo charger from one of the individuals who worked at the factory before retirement. There is a few minor issues like fixing the radio and clock, they both were working up until a few years ago. minor adjustment.Adjusting the turbo system, checking the light switches on the driver door. All the interior lights work fine, May need to adjustthe brakes, etc. Great care was taken to incorporate the after market A/C into the original controls and installed so as not to alter the appearance of the vehicle. The compressor was installed where the power steering unit goes and no extra holes drilled.May need to be charged. You will not be disappointed with this Jetfire. Great care was taken to detail.I tried to take pictures of the underside but they would not come out. A lot of new parts and any issues were addressed with the understanding it pass the magnet test. The jack is original and we even have Bias ply tires original for the year. I can go on and on but I recommend you visit the internet to read all about the details and watch the commercials and videos introducing these cars to the public which is the first Turbo charged car in production.
I’m not into showing the car or winning trophies. I had a different one when I was very young and my dream was to restore this one back to original as possible. I have enjoyed it and it is time for someone else to take it to the next level. It’s show quality and you will not have any problems with being the talk of the neighborhood. Feel free to ask any questions.
Note I re checked the millage and is less than 61,000
The Car has always had the Turbo installed. Never converted.
