This 1960 Oldsmobile Super 88 convertible has been stored many years, another project we are just not going to get to, we are liquidating the collection, and like the others we sold in the last couple of weeks this is close to the front door of the storage warehouse/barn, so it is one of the first to go.
This 88 was painted over 30 years ago, and was then left to sit, the paint looks great in the pictures, but will need to be done, it was amazing then, and is about driver, survivor quality now, I know the pictures look great, I do not want to mislead anyone on the paint quality. The Olds was a very solid car to start with, there was minor repair to the front floor, the rockers, frame, trunk floor, are in very good condition. The front edge of the hood has rust, it is very repairable, the engine compartment was all detailed at the time of the sympathetic restoration. The rear quarters are in very good condition as well
The Oldsmobile's original engine runs well, the car shows 65K miles which I believe to be correct, it is all complete under the hood, and we had it running last year, it went right into gear, however the car will need brakes, and I am sure a going over to drive.
As you can see in the pictures of the interior the front seat is incorrect, and the rear seat is missing, I have a correct front seat, I bought the one in the pictures, but it is for a 1961 and is too narrow, I have a correct frame from a 1960 Chevroletthat comes with the car. I have all of the dash board trim, around the windshield, the wiper switch is missing. The rear seat is missing, yes it is gone, been lost for years, while in another storage garage I guess someone needed it more than me.
As far as other missing parts, the complete front bumper is missing, and the 88 emblems from the quarters are gone as well. The top frame is in good condition, the front header of the top frame had some rust, the top motor and cylinders are all intact, and the rear shelf where top motor mounts is in great condition.
Please read the description and ask questions, I realize there are a few parts missing and do not want to mislead anyone in any way,, we just sold four others on Ebay, in the last couple weeks, I want to give as much information as possible, personal inspections are welcome, the Oldsmobile is being Sold AS IS, No Warranty Either Express or Implied, no negative feedback bids will be accepted, and if you have a 0 rating contact me first. This is a contract to buy a car, do not bid if you have no intention of completing the transaction if you are the winning bidder, a $1,000.00 non refundable deposit is required by the winning bidder within 24 hrs. of auction end, and payment within 3 days of end.
Foreign buyers are welcome to bid, and I do understand that it takes more than 3 days in some instances to make the final payment, we can work that out. The car is stored in a secure garage, and even though we do not do transport we will work with your transporter to get it loaded, a wagon we just sold went to the Netherlands, and my Mustang to New Zealand. Please read this description, and ask any questions before you bid, I have owned it for many years and know everything there is to know about this Oldsmobile... Good luck bidding
