1937 Oldsmobile L-37 -- Additional Info:
This is an absolutely beautiful 1937 Oldsmobile L-37. Featured in beautiful Ormond Tan color, and powered by the legendary 257 inline 8 engine. For the first time in the modern era, the Oldsmobile Division – in 1937 – offered two distinctly different automobiles. The Model L was powered by an 8-cylinder engine and rested on a 124-inch wheelbase making it eight inches longer than the Model F, which was powered by a 6-cylinder engine. The Model L had a classic hood and grill along with several other styling characteristics of the luxury car market. It was, in reality, the first 98. Oldsmobile weathered the Great Depression far better than most automakers. By 1937, it was gaining a reputation as the “innovator” within the General Motors family, the home of advanced ideas, if not radical design. Yet it had taken Olds a long time to find its place in the scheme of things. This pre-war Olds has been fully restored to original condition in the correct color of #125 – Ormond Tan. It absolutely runs and drives like a dream, and is completely road worthy to take you wherever you wish to drive. The restoration of this fine automobile was performed quite a few years ago, but still shows like a modern restoration. The restoration was so intricate; this beauty took 1st Place at the Antique Automobile Club of America in 1991. Pictures are great, but you must really see this car in person. It is truly a work of art. The interior is finished just as well as the exterior. The upholstery is flawless; the headliner is perfect; the dash looks like new! I could go on and on about this car. The suicide doors open and close perfectly while opening up to a spacious rear seat.
