1969 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible 4-Speed
Vehicle underwent a 5 year full frame off restoration with mainly NOS parts. Chrome was all professionally removed, resurfaced, and re-chromed. Every aspect of the frame off restoration was closely supervised with an open check book. All new sheet metal at the slightest sign of rust. Transmission is a Munci 4 speed that was rebuilt using premium parts at a professional transmission shop.
Motor is a 455ci standard bore that was professionally rebuilt by a performance engine builder using all ARP bolts and premium parts. Motor is standard bore with forged pistons. Motor has a COMP cam 294/306 duration. Block was decked .02 to slightly raise compression ratio. Car has an 850 King Demon carb that has been tuned perfectly. Heads flow @28in. Dyno sheets have a meaty torque curve starting at 491ft/lbs @ 3500 peaking at 503ft/lbs @3900 holding over 436ft/lbs all the way to 5200. HP starts at 327 HP@ 3500 and peaks at 437HP @ 5100. Power is even and well distributed and make for a aggressive idle yet smooth highway driver.
Car has headers, full exhaust, with standard tips that will wake your neighbors.
Car was completed early 2008 and has been a show/garage queen. Car has approximately 2000 miles since restoration for weekend cruises and car shows. I has an enormous amount of information about the restoration process, please view all the photos on my Photobucket album and look into detail how perfect every part was checked over and repainted or replaced.
