The previous owner of this custom Cutlass, unfortunately wrecked his 1970 Olds 442 without any insurance (I know, not very smart). Even he couldn’t believe it, so what he did next was to go out and find a 1970 Olds Cutlass Convertible. He then began to build this custom Cutlass. He took this rust free Cutlass and completely dismantled it. He painted the frame and floors inside and outside. He painted and rewired a dash-installed new Rally Gauge Package that has a Tic Toc Tach. He installed all new controls for the heater and lights, etc. He had the stock AM/FM Stereo radio rebuilt and it works fine. (Since I have owned the car I have had it professionally wired for Satellite Radio. The volume is controlled by the volume control on the stock AM/FM radio and a small remote controls the Satellite Stations. If the new owner wants to continue with Satellite radio service, they will need to purchase their own Satellite Receiver and Antenna. Again, the wiring has been professionally installed so that all of the wiring is hidden. The new owner would just need to plug in their Satellite Receiver which is quite small and fits in the glovebox with all kinds of room left over. They would also need to plug in a Satellite Antenna that has been wired into the trunk. It is pretty cool to ride around on a gorgeous day with the top down, listening to non-stop, commercial free Oldies music!) Back to the previous owner who installed new carpet with sound deadener. He had the seat frames painted and a new 1970 442 Pearl White interior professionally installed. He installed all new seat-belts, new weather stripping and gaskets. He also installed all new glass as well as new window regulators and new lock mechanisms. All of the mechanical components for the Convertible Top were either replaced or rebuilt and then the Convertible Top frame was newly painted. Then a brand new white, convertible top with a Glass Rear Window was installed. A new Pearl White Boot for the convertible top was also purchased and is also included. All of the chrome is new as well as the emblems. All of the Lights are also new. The previous owner also had the 1970 455 rebuilt with W30 Exhaust Manifolds, Intake and Ram Air System including a W-30 Hood. It has Power Steering and Power Disc Brakes. It also has new Dual Stainless Steel 2 ½ Flow Master Silent Thunder Exhaust with H Pipe. It has a rebuilt, wide-ratio, Muncie 4 Speed Transmission with a new pilot bearing, clutch pressure plate and throw-out bearing. The Shifter is a new Hurst Competition Plus Shifter. The Rear End is a 12-Bolt Posi with boxed trailing arms and a W-27 Aluminum Differential Cover. It has a new Aluminum Desert Cooler Radiator with Dual electric fans. This custom Cutlass even has W-30 Red Plastic Inner Fenders!! This car has 4 Brand new BF Goodrich TA Radials with less than 200 miles wear. The Wheels are the stock wheels for a 1970 442. This car is straight and rock-solid. It has been painted 442 Matador Red and has a Show Quality paint job. White stripes were painted on, then Clear Coated and later block sanded with 2000 grit sand paper so that they are not at all “raised” and cannot be “felt.” The car comes with a North Carolina title, Owners Manual and many, many receipts. As you can see, a fortune has been spent on this vehicle and no expense has been spared! This custom Cutlass Convertible is a W-30 442 in every way EXCEPT for the VIN. This car is super-fast and a REAL pleasure to drive! Get ALL the looks and thumbs-up for a fraction of the price of a 1970 442 W-30 Convertible!!
