1991 Nissan Other Additional Info:
I bought this Figaro on the USS auctions in Japan. This car was rated a 3.0 on the rating scale. What they neglected to tell me is the rust problem. I'm not really interested in doing this level of bodywork, so I am selling this car for exactly what I have into it: $6,000.00; no more, no less. I will provide a spreadsheet with all costs incurred as back-up to the potential buyer.
65% of the rust is relegated to the rear bumper mainly, and some on the front bumper. I have a font and rear (used) Figaro bumper pair on the way from Japan and will provide to the buyer as part of the purchase price. That leaves rust above the passenger side rear wheel, some above the driver side rear wheel, a spot in the passenger side upper rear quarter panel, and a spot in the rain gutter of the roof. The mechanically retractable top might need some love too.
Mechanically speaking, the 1.0-liter turbo-charged motor is agile and the auto box shifts strong. It’s an absolute blast to drive. Everything works too – well – except for the passenger side power window. The passenger side power window regulator is bad, so we direct connected to the window motor and use a Dewalt cordless drill battery to raise and lower the window. A window regulator can be had on Yahoo Auctions Japan for around 2,000 Yen.
The interior is in fair/good condition. All panels are flat and would be really easy to re-cover in fabric, leather, or vinyl.
The pluses: the tires are brand new, the motor pulls strong, and the paint looks great from five feet away! Plus, it has the ‘look at me’ factor. Want to be noticed when sitting at stoplights or when cruising? Well, this is your car. I drove this car for a few days as we were evaluating it, and got more comments and thumbs up then when I drive any of our other JDM cars.
