1984 Nissan Other Pickups Regular Bed Additional Info:
All original, straight body 1984 Nissan 720 for sale. Miles are original at 92,720. I have clear title in my name and am 3rd owner. Truck was purchased by my father (2nd owner) in 1998 in Dothan, Alabama, from the original owner. My father stopped driving due to illness in 2009 and I drove this truck at that time from Alabama to Texas with good intentions of spending time restoring it. In the interim between then and now, I'd start it up and drive it around the neighborhood but for the past year/year and a half, it has been idle. I now know that restoration isn't going to happen, so I recently (last three weeks) got things Texas titled it in my name and am ready to pass this vehicle to the 4th owner. And, yes, Dad is still living. He beat cancer, but is no longer driving at 88 years old. The 720 does not currently run but I can attest that the engine does turn over. I'm pretty sure it needs a fuel pump and the battery will also need to be replaced. But I did drop my truck's battery into it two weeks ago, shot some fuel in the carb, and it definitely turns over/runs if you can keep feeding it fuel. Hence - pretty sure it's the fuel pump (pump appears to be the original fuel pump from 1984). Good tread all around with relatively new rubber on the rear axle. The only rust I detect (see photo) is on the cab end of the bed. Original paint though most of the clear coat has weathered away. All original except radio (the radio slot has an old Sony radio/cassette player that was added) and side mirrors, but I do have the original mirrors. This is a five speed standard transmission that shifts fine but it does not have air conditioning. The 720 was the successor to the Datsun 620 beginning around the 1980 production year. It was also around 1983/1984 that the branding began to change on vehicles from the Datsun label to the Nissan name. The Z24 engine is also somewhat unique with the "twin spark" feature of two spark plugs per cylinder, hence a 4 cylinder 108hp engine with 8 plugs/plug wires.Feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer. I wish I had time, knowledge and inclination to spend time on this vehicle, but I do not. Other than the 800 mile drive from Alabama to Texas, I've only put a few hundred miles on this 720.Sold for cash (or certified cashier's check) and you will need to arrange to pickup/trailer or other transportation. If sold locally, I reserve the right to remove listing prior to close of auction. Thank you!
