This 1990 Nissan 300ZX is part of the new great class of vintage cars that comes with a rev-happy modern multi-valve motor and plenty of modern conveniences. But since it has crossed the 25-year threshold, it also is eligible for classic car insurance. And when it's as nicely presented as this T-top example, it also has earned its spot on the show field.Everyone loves a Z-car, and when this generation first hit the scene in 1990, it made a big impression. The rounded design almost looked like Nissan was doing impossible things with sheetmetal. And the profile of this shorter wheelbase model is always more popular. It has that perfect low-sung sportscar style that made it a true exotic (heck, even Lamborghini eventually borrowed the headlight design.) It really looks fantastic in its original Glacier Pearl. This factory paint has been so well looked after that even over a quarter-century later that you still get a great metallic shine the moment the sunlight hits it. It's this exceptional level of care and preservation you see over the whole car, right down to the factory 16-inch alloy wheels that look like they've never done battle with a curb. There's little doubt that this car was built by and for drivers when you climb inside. The tan leather buckets are firm and grippy, holding you in place during spirited driving but remaining comfortable for long-distance hauls, too. Just like the exterior, the interior is in exceptional condition so you'll find few signs anyone ever sat in these seats or even rested a foot on the carpeting. The dash is low, giving excellent sight lines. All the controls are at your fingertips, many as close as the edge of the instrument panel. As Nissan's flagship, this Z came with loaded with features like power windows power locks, power driver's seat, and a great-sounding Bose AM/FM/cassette stereo system. You know you want to take off the T-tops and cruise this Z all-year round, and that's no problem thanks to the automatic climate control that includes modern R134a air conditioning. The 3.0-liter DOHC V6 s a truly marvelous motor. With 222 horsepower on tap, this fuel-injected, multi-valve powerplant loves to rev, and it makes a wonderful guttural growl at full throttle. These engines proved to be virtually indestructible in the real world, and while they respond well to modifications, this numbers-matching original motor remains completely stock. In fact, part of the appeal of a sports car like this is it fires up as reliability and has the same everyday usability as any other Nissan. This is backed up be great driving features like the four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, power steering, and cruise control. But the moment you feel like hitting the open road, the fully independent sports suspension and four-wheel disc brakes remind you instantly how the Z car has earned its racing stripes. Welcome to the new class of vintage sports cars where you get everything you want, including classic car respect. We only have this example, and we doubt you'll ever find one as fantastically preserved ever again. Call today!!!
