1958 Nash Metropolitan Additional Info:
No Reserve or extra fees!! 1958 Nash Metropolitan with only 59,280 original miles. This car is and always was rock solid. This car is so much fun to drive. It goes down the road like a fairly modern car. This one has a trunk which started in 1959 so this one is rare. 1959 has vent windows but this one has the full glass with chrome trim. I have been told it may be a prototype. Access to the rear through the rear seat and also the trunk lid. The am radio works, wipers work, heater works, horn works and a lighter that may work. The lights all work properly. This car has no electrical issues. No battery drain after weeks of storage. This car has been cared for and shown with pride. The motor starts right up. The motor runs so smooth as it should. It has a manual choke and pull knob start. The 3 speed column shift transmission works just right. Shifts great in all gears including reverse. The clutch feels great especially with the new slave cylinder. It runs and shifts superb. The 5 wheels have been sand blasted inside and out then repainted Metropolitan orange. Then 5 brand new tires were put on these wheels. The seats are all redone. The light color stays cool in the sunshine. The white feels bright and pleasant. A new carpet kit was installed but the drivers side sill has a few inches of imperfection. The headliner are all redone. It was a non smokers car and has a nice older car smell inside. The car has been repainted years back and is a driver quality job. No rot repair done on the floors or structure. There is some filler in the car but it seems lightly used. Under the doors is solid and clean. The trunk area is so solid and clean. The chrome is driver quality and original. It is truly a great example that is so fun to enjoy. The brakes feel good and the emergency brake works. Brand new master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder just installed last week to ensure you are safe if you choose to drive this across the Country home. Every bolt, the lines and bleeders all broke loose easy. This car loves to be on the highway!! No over heating or funny business. The fuel gauge seems to work fine. The fuel filter is spotless. The suspension feels as it should and the grease fittings show it's been greased. The exhaust system looks to be in good condition with a new muffler. This Nash is ready to enjoy and most important it is safe to drive right now. I have a great source for all parts for a Metropolitan and they are fair on prices and top notch in service. You will get their catalog with the car. I purchased this beauty at an Antique Car Auction in Pennsylvania. He would show the car and has a bracket that clips to the back wheel showing a catalog with the 1958 Metropolitan information. He also had a wind up key that would stick (magnet with felt bottom) to the trunk lid so the car looked like a big old fashion toy. The collector passed away and the family was selling his collection of cars at this sale. The title in perfect and in hand. I have no extra fees. These Metropolitans are cheap to insure with Antique insurance and a blast to enjoy!! Well, if you were looking for an Antique that is fun, easy to drive, gets plenty of positive attention, seats 4, cheap to insure, is all redone to be safe and reliable, and will hold it's value if not appreciate, YOU FOUND IT!! NO RESERVE so plan to make the winning bid. Photo gallery
