More to the story than just pictures

Imagine getting behind the wheel of your car, hat's a little older than anyone else on the road and daydreaming about the old days of automobile development since its beginning. While cruising you realize the history of transportation was being lost and seemingly, any auto makers and the beautiful creations of engineering were disappearing. Why not turn your daydreaming into reality and create a collection of vehicles and house them in one place where future generations could see history, eceive pleasure, njoyment and possibly future engineers would be inspired at seeing cars, otorcycles, tc., f years gone by.

This is exactly what Harold Le May dreamed and created by developing the largest privately owned automobile collection of over 3,000 vehicles, s certifying him by the Guinness Book of World Records "The largest privately owned automobile collection in the world." This s shown at Marymount in Spanaway, wa. and the America's Car Museum, n Tacoma, A.. The two museums complement each other and tell the wonderful story of America's love affair with the automobile

This car, 947 Luxury Brougham 600 Ambassador Coupe was Harold Le May's driver. He drove this car while building his collection until the engine needed repair then he put it his collection as No. 1900 where it was displayed until 2011.

Harold didn't sell any of his collection. After his passing, t 81, he estate auctioned this car in 2011, ithout an engine. It went to Strange Automotive, very quality builder of transmissions and engines, or an all new power train, lectrical system, rakes, ires, arpet and more. Now to me.

As you can see this car should go to a true auto enthusiast to maintain this piece of autorama history.

This is a nice 1947 Nash new build. I bought it from the Harold Le May family auction without a engine or transmission. It has a rebuilt 1989 HO 302 roller camshaft engine with ported heads and an Edelbrock RPM intake manifold. It has new electronic distributor, ew coil, park plugs, lug wires, ater pump, luminum radiator, lectric cooling fan, lectric fuel pump, adiator hoses, nd a rebuilt Edelbrock 650cfm electric choke carburetor. The alternator is a new 100 amp 1 wire alternator. It is 12 volt. All the lights have been changed over to 12 volts; the wiring in the car has been changed over to the 12 volt system. The brakes have new hard lines, ew brake hoses, heel cylinders, ewly relined brake shoes and new master cylinder. All four tires are new. The car has new 2 inch dual exhaust with mufflers and 1968 Mustang exhaust manifolds.
The transmission is a Ford AOD (automatic overdrive) fully rebuilt with a Lokar shifter and a Lokar TV cable with a new driveshaft, -joints and slip yoke. Headlights, ark lights, ail lights and brake lights along with the windshield wipers are all in working order. All floor boards front and rear, nd rockers are in excellent shape. Has new carpet and sound deadening, ut the rest of the interior is still completely stock . All New side windows recently installed, hey have a light green tint.
