I’m selling my Super "RARE" 1989 Dodge Raider / Mitsubishi Montero 4x4 - 2 Door Classic SUV In Rare Color Yellow With 5 Speed Manual Transmission.

This is a very nice Dodge Raider that was produced by Mitsubishi and imported by Dodge. The Mitsubishi/Raider was only produced for two years in the two-door model and only sold under Raider or the Montero name from 1989 to 1990 and the only two years with the 6G72 V6 3.0 litter engine making it a pretty rare vehicle that you'll probably never see in a lifetime. Another thing to be noted is that this Raider has the straight rear axle with coil springs and it have a way better ride then the early models that had leaf springs. This Raider also has the driver side bouncy suspension seat that smooths out the ride when off roading, it can be adjusted and locked out as needed..

Vehicle was sold in California and had passed onto other owners throughout its life. It had an issue back in the day that branded the title. This Raider was a California model with smog on it and when it was a little older and couldn’t pass the strict pollution requirements in California it was then labeled a "gross polluter" and because of that it has a branded title rebuilt restored status. It has Plagued this vehicle throughout its life and I believe that's why it changed owners as many times as it did. It now has a Utah state title under my name.

The engine that was in the vehicle was no good, so I replaced it with a new engine from another vehicle that had 154,000 miles roughly on it. I have used that odometer cluster from the donor and installed it into this Dodge Raider so that it would reflect the actual miles of the engine. This vehicle has also been reported several times inaccurately on its miles and I’m not sure the reason why.

When I purchased the vehicle about eight years ago it had 151,025 miles on the odometer. I have since removed the old odometer, replacing it with a new one, reflecting the miles of the current engine as stated above. The DMV considers this vintage/classic vehicle and on the title, it shows odometer 0. This vehicle is in excellent condition for the year and has never been in an accident, so the paint is all original. It does have its fading and bumps and bruises here and there with small scratches and dents as expected for its age, but overall, in excellent condition. This vehicle has all original factory glass in it, including the windshield, which is rare to see. There’s no rust on the vehicle body or undercarriage. Vehicle runs and drives great. The motor has been rebuilt and includes the following.

DESCRIPTION:

All services are up to date. It is in great original condition, showing less than average wear and tear. It comes with the original owner manual, sales brochure, manual, shop manuals, original keys, tools and jack. It's a rare, unmolested survivor.

TRANSMISSION:

It has the original 5 speed manual transmission with new clutch and flywheel, It goes into all the gears perfectly with no slipping issues. 4 Wheel drive work perfect.

INTERIOR:

It has the original grey cloth interior. Has some minor wear and tear but not bad (very hard to find in this condition). Headliner is in great condition for the year (see photos).. This model also has the inclinometer, alt and oil gauge. The carpets are clean and not soiled and has new all-weather floor mats.

PAINT AND BODY:

The body and frame are rust free and in great shape for the year, color is yellow and brighter in pics, the natural color is pale. It does have some fading, and the paint is getting a little thin, dents and or scratches on the body that could easily be removed with painless dent removal and some touch up. Some touch up has been done already. Undercarriage cleaned and corrosion coating professionally applied.

WHEELS AND TIRES:

Original aluminum wheels with set of 5 brand NEW Mud Claw Extreme MT 31x10.50 tires

ELECTRICAL AND ACCESSORIES

It has a new A/C compressor running original R12 that works great and blows cold (guaranteed). No warning lights on in dash of any kind.

EXHAUST:

Exhaust system is new with muffler and catalytic converter, 02 sensor, new piping and gaskets.

SUSPENSION AND BRAKES:

The suspension rides nice

Sold as is and a $500 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold the item. Balance due 7 days after sale. I prefer bank to bank wire transfer for the balance to avoid other fees.

You will love this classic Dodge Raider/ Montero for it's nice looks and great ride with fantastic reliability not produced in today's cars. My personal Montero back in the day had over 360k miles before it was wrecked, the only thing you must do is change the oil every 3k and it will run forever. This truck burns 0 oil and does not blow smoke on startup. This truck is truly hard to find in this condition andihope it finds a good home. Please bid accordingly and remember to pay at close.
