Vehicle Details

Up for sale is an original, low mileage 1988 Mitsubishi Starion ESi-R. I've had the car since June of 2019. It was in storage until just recently. It has four brand new Hankook Ventus S2 Concept 2 tires, professionally mounted and balanced. An alignment was done at the same time. The oil and filter were just changed with full synthetic 10w-30. The car also has fresh coolant and clean transmission fluid. The car has no fluid leaks.

It runs awesome, makes full boost, handles great, stops well, etc. It's sometimes touchy about the 1-2 upshift, which occasionally lacks smoothness / shudders, but always finds 2nd gear, after which it goes like the wind, shifts into 3rd and 4th no sweat, and downshifts properly.

One of the most remarkable things about the car is that it is rust and rot free. The factory Mitsubishi muffler is still on the car and looks great. As you can clearly see in the pictures, the paint is sun bleached and faded. She still drew an admiring crowd at a recent car show, worn paint or no.

The doors open and close smoothly with no hang. Very gratifying. The driver's power window works great, the passenger's one is inop, as are both of the automatic seatbelts, but the lap belts work fine. Headlights, taillights and directionals work perfectly, but the headlights do not go up and down. The leather seats are original and in ok shape, still comfortable. The mileage is actual and documented, but the odometer and speedometer recently stopped working. Possibly an issue where the cable goes into the reducer gear at the tail of the transmission.

All glass is original and in great condition. The hatch even has the "Turbo" lettering and really makes a statement. There's a fancy Kenwood Excelon CD player / head unit in the dash, but it's not hooked up.

This is a sweet car to look at, to be around, to drive. As mentioned, it's not without its flaws, but is a very cool and complete original example of these very exciting cars. I'm not looking for the moon here, just need the space.
