1985 Mitsubishi Mighty Max SP Additional Info:
Mitsubishi Mighty Max .
This is a great little truck. It has 222,000 miles on it, but the miles will keep going up as this is my daily driver. The engine starts hard and smokes until it warms a bit. It runs absolutely perfectly once it is warmed up. I can provide you with a video of it starting and running if you contact me.
The transmission was rebuilt at 209k miles. It has a new input shaft and an upgraded 5th gear set that will never break. It has a Stage 3 ceramic clutch capable of handling up to 200 hp.
The engine was rebuilt at 212k miles. The cylinders were bored out and new oversize pistons installed. The silent shafts got new bearings, idler and belt. It got new injectors and glow plugs. It has an MLS head gasket, much stronger than traditional composite gaskets. This engine will last a long time.
4wd system works flawlessly.
I installed an electric lift pump, and an intercooler, and turned the fuel up a bit. It has an oil pressure gauge, EGT gauge, and boost gauge. It seems to have a slight boost leak somewhere right now and I have not had time to fix that.
The interior is about as good as you would expect for such an old vehicle. The dash is cracked. The passenger seat is pretty good, but the driver's seat is torn and has a broken spring which makes it very uncomfortable. The windshield is cracked near the bottom. The passenger inside door handle is broken so it can only be opened from the outside.
As you can see in the pictures, the rocker panels and fenders are pretty rusty. However, the bed and frame are spotless.
This is exactly the same truck as what Dodge sold as the Ram 50.
