1965 Mini Morris Mini Moke Additional Info:
We have just added to our extensive exotic car inventory this a beautiful 1965 Morris Mini Moke. This Mini Moke is a remarkable little motorcar with a fascinating history. Purchased in 1965 from Bepi Koelliker of Milano, the famed Italian dealer of English cars, this Mini Moke was presented as a gift to Ms. Stellina Fabbri from her father, Mr. Giovanni Fabbri. Mr. Fabbri was the founder of Fratelli Fabbri Editori which was the largest publisher in Italy. The gift of this Mini Moke was to celebrate his daughters 18th birthday.
Upon purchase, Mr. Fabbri commissioned Bepi Koelliker to modify the standard Mini Moke into the very special one-off car you see here. The very best modification company at the time for Minis was the Carrozzeria Fratelli Pavesi of Milano. Mr. Sirtori is the craftsman that did the work on the Moke in 1965 and he still remembers the car and the drawings made by Mr. Pavesi and approved by Mr. Fabbri. The colors chosen were browns in different tonalities. The body is painted beige, the upholstery in brown with a 100 Lines brown velvet on the brown leather. The dashboard was fitted with custom wood. A dark brown bulbar, fog lights, brown soft top and special 10 wheels were fitted to the motorcar. Finally, a picnic set with enclosed in brown luggage and two latches for water skis were installed.
When the Mini Moke was ready, the final bill came to 2,000,000 Italian Lira! Consider that in 1965 a house in the center of Florence was valued at 5,000,000 Italian Lira! This is truly one of the most special Mini Mokes ever built.
This remarkable little car was imported to Los Angeles by a collector in 2018. Its condition is nothing short of remarkable! It comes complete with the original water skis and picnic set from 1965! Its next owner will be a collector, or simply someone that wants to enjoy it as a beach runabout or as a driver in a private community.
The extensive documentation that accompanies this Mini Moke is nothing short of incredible. Its a true piece of history and not one to miss!
