1980 Mini Classic Mini Additional Info:
For sale here is a classic mini with a v-tec B18c conversion with a 5spd transmission. I bought this mini as a completely done turn key beauty!!!!! I've always wanted a mini so I sold my prized possession (1964 nova) and started searching the internet for the perfect mini. I searched long and har, constantly being dissapointed with cars that did not meet my standards. Either rust, swapped vin#s, poorly so called restorations, or just over priced. Anyway, I finally found one that fit the bill. I flew from New York to Chicago and negotiated this mini from the asking price of $25,000 down to $20,000 and shipped it home. I love this car, it's awesome. So here I am 4 weeks later, driving the mini to a Friday night car show when someone made a poor judgement on how much room they had to make a left turn and hit the front of my beautiful mini. So now it has some front end cosmetic damage to the fiberglass nose. The car was not moving when it got hit. I started to repair the fiberglass nose and got it structurally sound. It now needs to have the final body work and paint. It will also need a new grille and headlight assemblies, bumper and directionals. With these minor repairs the mini will be a mint as it was when I bought it 4 weeks ago for 20k. I've decided to try and sell it because I have other projects going on and this was supposed to be my weekend toy not another project.
The list of goods invested in this car is long and expensive. I'll list a few but would rather you call and I'll explain all the details
vto 13 inch wheel with new tires
type r b18c engine with dyne sheets to show 187.49 hp TO THE WHEELS!!! with 136.72 torque
wildwood brake pedal assembly with cross drilled slotted vented disc brakes
5 speed transmission with lsd custom 3.7 final drive ls integra 5th gear swap. (cruises at 75 @3200 rpm)
custom 2.5 in stainless mandrel bent exhaust
protech adjustable coil overs on all four corners(handles awesome)
new steering rack
has the hondata s300 ecu
speedhut gauges with gps speedo and an innovative air fuel multi gauge
The interior is beautiful and comes from Newton Commercial in England. The mini has an air conditioning system but the a/c compressor housing cracked and a hose got damaged so these two items will need to be replaced in order for the a/c to work.
So much more... just call and I'll fill in the blanks. If I get somewhat close to my asking price I'll also include a FULL roll cage never installed with certification from Safety Devices and a second set of wheels with tires. If not, I'll sell that stuff separately to make up the difference.
This car runs and drives great just as it did before the cosmetic damage. ABSOLUTELY NO RUST ANYWHERE. Probably an inside car its whole life.
I'm asking for best offer. I'm always looking for other cars or possibly motorcycles, jeeps, or muscle cars, but prefer selling it to fund other projects.
Please call Scott with any questions 631-445-2038ebay does seem to accept the vin# so I listed it as a 1980 but it is actually a 1985. Has a clear NY title that is correct to the car. It is a 1985 Austin mini and is currently registered and insured as such. I'm only listing this car once and if it doesn't sell I'm going to fix it back to mint condition and then relist it in the spring for a much higher price. So take advantage of my emotionally motivateddecision to sell it now and steal it for what it would cost just to do aproper vtec conversion.
