This car is a very recent import to the US. Having been first registered in January of 1992 it complies fully with all federal automotive import laws and comes with a clean Florida Title. The previous owner in the UK bought this car as a present for his son, the car underwent a $6500 restoration including rebuilding the original 1275cc engine, transmission, and Single Point Fuel Injection system. He also added the SportsPack Wheel arches, 13” Minilite Wheels and Aston Martin Fuel Cap, before having the car repainted in Gleaming White, retaining all of the factory Cooper badging on the hood, trunk and wheels.
The car shell is rust free (aside from a small dime sized bubble on the passenger front fender, picture provided) with perfect sills, floors, trunk and battery well. Also during the restoration the previous owner replaced the rear subframe with a brand new one and rebuilt the radius arms, replaced the ball joints and rebuilt the brakes on all four corners.
The car also has a great sounding, custom center exit exhaust to make the best of that 1275cc Cooper engine.
The interior has been completely redone with red leather aftermarket front bucket seats and matching rears. The drivers seat has 3” seat extensions installed that allow taller drivers to drive the car (I’m 6’3 and it is comfortable for me to drive) It also has a rear safety devices roll cage painted red, Securon 4 point harnesses, new carpet throughout the car, original Cooper leather steering wheel and shift knob and a Sony head unit with AUX input.
This engine fires up with the first turn of the key every time. Being fuel injected there is no worry about carb adjustments, cleaning or rebuilding. It doesn’t require any lead additives that some older engines require. Just hop in, turn the key and drive.
After undergoing the above restoration the previous owners son decided he didn’t want the car which is when we purchased and sent it stateside. The car has been inspected by the Division of Motorist Services and is 100% legal. Currently registered and insured in Florida.
The rear windshield heater is not currently working.
