1962 MG MGA Mark II Additional Info:
1962 MGA Mark II1622 cc EngineWire WheelsLast year for the most beautiful MG ever built
This is aabsolutely stunning example of the final iteration of the MGA. You likely already know all the things that make a Mark II MGA special but I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't include it in this ad. Except for the twin Cam, Mark II had the highest output of any MGA. They increased the displacement to 1622cc. Seems like a minor thing but in 1962 any improvement to powerwas welcome news. It retained the much improved frontdisc brakes of the 1600cc cars. It had several design changes to set it apart from previous MGA's. The Grill was recessed to allow more air into theradiator and help it to run cooler. Previous cars were known for running hot. The tail lights were moved to the main body and turnedhorizontal to give thesilhouette and rear fenders a more streamlined look. Theinterior featured a dressed up dash, matching the look of the deluxe version with covered metal dash, chrome trim around the horn and along the bottom edge.
This MGA was completely restored about 10 years ago and still looks as if it were fresh out of restoration. It was stripped to bare metal and repainted correct MG red. The interior was completely restored to "as new" with new carpet, black leather seats with white piping, new foam seat inserts andsynthetichorse hair fill on the seat backs, new frames and slides. All properly installed and looking like new. The engine, transmission and allmechanical components were rebuilt or reconditioned as needed. The result is a car that looks and drives almost as if it were new.
While it is clearly a high end restoration it was always intended to be driven. Therefor; it is not aPebbleBeach, Concourse winning, show stopper. It is anincredibly beautiful classy driver that you would be proud to drive to any show and compete with other "driven" cars or just enjoy the open road in a car that looks and runs as well as any could.Because it has been ten years and a few thousand miles since the restoration it is not perfect. There are a few very minor nicks and an imperfection or two. But nothing one would not expect on a car that has been driven.
There isnotand never was any damage fromaccidents. All the panels are razor straight and fit nicely. If there ever was any rust it is long gone with no signs of repairs. It has abeautiful, Tourist Trophy, polished exhaust that gives it a nice deep vintage racer exhaust note. The top is brand new and fits like new. It features a very nice set of covered sidecurtainsto match the interior and dash. It has five new tires on five powder coated wire wheels and fully carpeted trunk. Under the trunk carpet are nicely finished red original panels that look as good as the body.
It starts right up with a single pull of thestarterand dose not burn any oil. Only a very few drips in the garage after a day of driving. The oil pressure stays up around 55 while driving and around 20 at idle. It runs cool all day on the hottest days. The brakes areallcompletelynew from the master cylinder to each wheel and stop strong and straight. It shifts nice andcrisp up and down and pulls strong in every gear. The engine area is nicely detailed and finished in the proper colors and finishes.
The time to ask questions and complete inspections is prior to bidding. I have sold many vintage cars on eBay and feel like I know how toaccuratelydescribe a car. However; the only opinion that matters is yours. So please take the time to look over the photos and give me a call. Please do not bid until you are ready willing and able to complete the transaction.

I do this because I believe communication is the key to happy buyers and good deals. Buying cars on eBay can seem overwhelming if you are new to the process.
