Up for auction is a 1962 MGA Roadster. It is a 1600 MK II. It is the last year of production of the iconic A series. It is an older restored example. Body looks beautiful, underside will need some work. Has seen very little use over the years and is a turn-key example. It was always garage stored and no expense was spared maintaining it over the years. There is a large folder of documents that spans 50 years. Documents show that the MGA lead a charmed life spending summers on Cape Cod and Nantucket.Mechanically the MG is in excellent condition. It ran flawlessly this past summer and always received fantastic compliments on it. The engine runs fine and does not blow any smoke out of the exhaust. Oil pressure is around 40 lbs at idle with a warmed up engine. All of the lights, and gauges are working as they should. Charging system is fine with no issues. Left rear wheel cylinder is weeping and will need to be replaced. It is an older restoration that still looks great. The body itself shows no rust. Doors, hood and trunk close fine with no issues. The hood latch could be adjusted better for a more flush fit. The underside of the MG is original and will need to be restored. Although it feels solid, it will require the typical areas that rust on an MGA be repaired at some point. It's been driven like this for quite a long time. These include the thin metal that surrounds the wooden floors, driver's side inner frame has a spot. Forward leaf spring mounts show previous patch.The interior is in excellent condition. The seats and carpet look excellent as shown in the pictures. The door panels look nice with no issues. The convertible top is in good condition and keeps the car relatively dry. Side curtains are in good condition.
