1977 MG MGB Additional Info:

Are you looking for a great running MG that already turns heads when you drive her even though she is not finished being restored? If you are, you do not want to miss out on looking at this one. You can enjoy driving while at the same time finish making her a real looker! This daily driver is only being listed for sale because my husband’s current medical condition leaves me little time to either work on her or enjoy driving her. She is a blast to drive and now that I have replaced both the clutch and brakes she is super safe! She starts right away, accelerates nicely, stops on a dime, and turns off without run-on. I frequently take her to run errands. All mechanical work was performed by a shop that specializes in repairing antique cars. You can check out the invoices in the photo section to see that I invested over $8,000 last year to ensure she runs well. She has a new battery and brake lights, directional signals and the speedometer and oil pressure gauge work well. Interior clock will need to be replaced and I am currently searching for one. This car has NO rust areas. At least none that I have been able to find. She has been garaged for the last 8 years. When you get in and close the doors, you can hear how solid the body and frame are in the following you-tube video.

My next project was to restore her cosmetically and, toward that end, I have already purchased the following parts: New Carpet for area behind seats, Middle Console, Dashboard, Leather Steering Wheel and a windshield frame part that need to be replaced. All of these will be included in sale of car. She also comes with three (3) tops and numerous accessories including a spare tire and jack, jumper cables and a cover if she is kept outside. A new convertible top, a return to her original color of red and chrome spoke wheels were my next planned investments but I have not yet scheduled that work. If she sells at listing price, I will deduct the purchase of the convertible top…you pick the soft top…and that comes off the purchase price. All documentation that came with the car when I purchased her, and ALL service records while I have owned her will be included which includes the original service manual. I updated her radio 6 years ago so you can recharge your iPhone while listening to either PBS or the many CD’s I’ve collected from the 70’s. The CD’s will also be included if you want them. There are Chilton’s and Haynes repair manuals. A cute suitcase that I put on the luggage rack, that doubles as a place to put groceries when I go shopping, goes with her also as does a cover for her if you do not keep her in a garage. I will throw a bunch of “detailing products” like wax and Amour All. The funnels to add oil and windshield washer fluid are included. Yes, that means the windshield wiper blades work too:). I am also throwing in parts that were purchased but not needed…Head Gasket and fuel filter. Nothing suggests the Head Gasket needs replacing but it never hurts to have an extra part around…just in case.Make an appointment to drive her! You will not be disappointed. As you would expect with a 47 year old car though, there is no warranty and is being sold As-Is.Think the listing price is too much? Make me a fair and reasonable offer and I will give it serious consideration. Until then, I will continue to work on her as time permits. Updates will be provided as work is finished.Do an old lady a favor and take her for a spin! Do you live too far away to take her for a spin? No worries. By the end of the Labor Day weekend, I should have a you-tube video uploaded as I take her for a spin. Watch for that update and come along for the ride!
