Vehicle Details
This 1980 MGB has been repowered with a Chevy 4.3 V6, th350 automatic transmission, and Ford 8" open rear end. Triple black, clean top & tonnou cover, everything works as it should, premium sound (JVC Bluetooth), new carpeting, heated seats, wipers and heater work for winter driving. PIAA 15" alloy rims, new tires, brake pads, rotors & drums on the rear this year. Solid drivetrain and rust free straight body. Repainted once over the original black, needs a repaint to look pristine, a few paint scuffs & dings on the 44 year old body are showing. The body has been undercoated, stock suspension front & rear with new front suspension bushings. The Chevy 4.3 has been overhauled with less than 500 break in miles, has a roller cam, HEI ignition, Edelbrock4 bbl, headers, 1 wire 12v alternator, push button start. No fluid leaks or overheating problems, I've been driving it off & on for about 500 miles to work out any issues. Replaced The Speedometer with a GPS speedo. The Ford 8 " differential has 2.79 gears, from a 1972 Maverick. The 350 transmission is from a 1979 Chevy, the V6 from a 1991 S10 truck. Runs 60mph at 2000 rpm, estimated 180 HP will hit 100mph very easy. This MGB has collector plates and clear title, I've only driven to car shows as per collector plate status, can be driven anywhere safely. New driveshaft and U joints, windows roll up & down. At 76 years old, I have medical issues that keep me from driving this quick MGB, it sits in the garage 10 months a year.
Cons: tach reads 600rpm fast
windshield washer not hooked up
back up lights not hooked up
no keys for door or trunk lock
parking brake removed but available
No warranty.
Asking $13,000 . The hard work is done & dependable, just needs minor cosmetic for the perfectionist. Selling because I am restoring my Jaguar XJS, need $ for that project. Located on Whidbey island, Washington. North of Seattle.
