Vehicle Details

1971 MGB that I rescued from a shed where it had been sitting since 2013 when it was last inspected. Parked due to electrical issues. If you compare the inspection sticker with the speedo you'll see less than 100 miles in the last 10 years. Original miles 65766. The car starts easily and runs quiet. I replaced the clutch master and rebuilt the slave cylinder and the car shifts perfectly up and downshifting. The choke cable was replaced and a tune up/timing, plugs in the last week. The engine holds good oil pressure 50 to 75lbs. The oil gauge in the dash didn't work so I replaced it with a mechanical gauge mounted under the dash near the radio console, see photo. The car runs cool, but noticed today that the gauge goes to H upon starting. Digital check shows normal temp. Must be the sending unit. I'll check that out. All electrics and gauges have been sorted except the heater. Dash is really nice as are all the gauges. New battery. Radiator holds well but really should be replaced. The body is in pretty good shape with no rust through having solid floors as seen in the photos. The driver's side was replaced and done well. The passenger's side is clean too with only light surface rust with no holes or weakness. The owner bought the car in 1980 and had it painted but the prep was not done well. It looks good at 20 feet but there's spider cracking and other imperfections under the paint. Zoom in on the photos for a closer look. It still looks OK for a driver. Trunk is solid with spare, original jack and knock off wrench. I gutted the interior and replaced the front floor mats with original style rubber mats and refinished the under seat ones as well as the original rubber sill covers. Replaced the transmission tunnel carpet with new, replaced the front kick panels and firewall carpets with new. Redid the seat bottoms and replaced the seat diaphragms, seats are in excellent condition with no rips or tears. Top is decent but has 2 small repairs, zip out window. Tires are Michelin with good tread but are 10 years old. They hold pressure well. Please don't ask if the car can be driven home as I've only driven it in the driveway and in the neighborhood for a test. Brakes work OK but I haven't checked those out and suggest going through the entire system.  I have a clear notarized PA title. A $500 deposit is required at the conclusion of the auction. I am willing to assist in shipping as long as buyer makes all arrangements well in advance. I try to describe all my auctions with detail so there are no surprises. I can be reached at 814-931-0627 with questions. The car is know for sale locally and I'll end the auction with a local sale. This will be a nice driver/entry level MGB or restoration.
