1962 MG MGA Roadster Additional Info:
1962 MG A ROADSTER 1600 MK II: --Red with Black interior piped in Red, Black carpeting, Tonneau cover, 1622cc inline four-cylinder engine with a 4-speed manual gearbox, Wire wheels, Older restored and well-kept. The MGA was in a completely different league to its predecessors. A new era sports car for its day, it was extremely stylish, fun, fast and an instant hit. The Mark II was introduced in 1961. MG increased the engine size to 1622cc now producing 90bhp with top speed now beyond 100mph. The cylinder head was also revised with larger valves and redesigned combustion chambers. It also had a higher ratio 4:1 rear axle, which was much better suited for higher speed and highway driving. Visual changes included an inset grille and revised tail lights. Just over 8,000 Mark II roadsters were produced. The Mark II was the final iteration of the MGA, and it remains a desirable model among collectors today. Originally imported to Canada, this MGA has been lovingly owned for many years on the Eastern end of Long Island. During its long-term ownership, the MGA was restored in the early 2000's. Some upgrades included a Monza exhaust system, a wood Rally steering wheel and racing seat belts. The interior was outfitted with new Black upholstery piped in Red. She then traded hands a few years ago to use as a fun, open-top summer British roadster out in the Hamptons. Maintained regardless of use, this excellent early 1960’s sports car is one of the best driving, most reliable and fun sports cars of its period. All body lines are excellent and shows no signs of any accidents or damage. Upon a recent road test, the MGA drove extremely, well as it was intended from the factory. An iconic, well-sorted, classic British sports car.
