1950 MG T-Series Additional Info:
Greetings to all! Up for auction is my 1950 MG-TD roadster. It is mostly original and since acquiring it I have gone completely through the brake system, rebuilt the wheel cylinders, replaced the flexible lines and some of the rigid lines, repacked the bearings, installed new seals and flushed/replaced the brake fluid as well as replace the flexible boots on the rack-and-pinion steering. The underside is clean and rust free, shocks, exhaust, etc. are all in good condition. I suspect that someone before me started the frame-on restoration as I find it hard to believe that even though it has spent most of its life out west that it would remain that clean for almost 70 years. The paint, well, lets be honest......it’s a “20 footer”, with lots of retouched chips and scrapes. I also don’t think that it’s the correct original color. Close inspection of the engine compartment photos shows the firewall and tool box are a lighter, metallic green. I believe it was born “Willow Green” and repainted sometime in the past. Speaking of the engine compartment, I believe everything is original with the exception of the fuel pump and flexible fuel lines which I replaced. I replaced the entire interior (with the exception of the seat) and carpet with a Moss Motors interior, recovered the dash and had the speedometer and tachometer professionally rebuilt and recalibrated. The seat was redone in vinyl prior to my ownership. The top, although not original, is in good condition and the side curtains (not pictured) are also in good condition, clear and not cracked. The tonneau cover I believe to be original, I had the center zipper replaced. The five matching Michelin radials are near-new and everything works with the exception of the clock! All of the chrome is in good condition, free of dents/dings/pits. All the tools are present in the tool kit, and an owners manual and service manual will be included. New York State does not title vehicles prior to 1973, vehicle will be sold with a bill-of-sale and transferable registration. A $200 non-refundable deposit through PayPal will be required from the successful bidder with the balance due as stated below.
