Summary
Thank you for your interest, up for sale is my 1974 MGB GT. The car is an excellent driver, and is very fun to take to shows. Highlighting some of the more recent upgrades, fresh wheels and tires, brake refresh, new motor with Weber carb, and of course the paint! Hard to find a piece on this car that has not been gone through. This car is not a rust bucket like typical MG's; floors are SOLID.
Car starts and never skips a beat. Solid oil pressure and fresh engine should have less that 3,000 miles on it by now. Had a performance exhaust installed by the prior owner with the Weber carb and performance header.
As mentioned the paint is brand new. When I bought the car, it was yellow and although had great patina, did not look too impressive. Jams have been done and of course if you look in places, you will still see the original paint; however it looks awesome in the sun with the slight metallic finish. It is not the best paint job in the world and if you were to take this car to be a pristine, perfect example of a GT coupe, I would have a shop you trust go through it properly. This car was meant to be driven and was me and my dad's project/show car.
This car is being sold as is, I will do my best to point out any compromising flaws but would ask that those purchasing understand they are purchasing a used vintage vehicle that will require attention/maintenance to keep in the excellent condition that it is in.
Engine/Trans
1800 MGB 4 cylinder engine, Mallory distributor with new Lucas wires and fresh plugs. 4 speed manual gear box, non-OD.
Suspension/Chassis/Brakes
Car was lowered properly by the prior owner. The 1974 MGB GT Coupe came with a wonky stance and although this car is on the better end before the rubber bumper swap, was still victim to that, but no longer! Fresh springs, shocks, etc. Floorboards, chassis, and wheel wells coated to protect and prevent rusting. New Sumitomo tires on original refreshed wire wheels.
Good master cylinder, manual brakes no booster. Fresh shoes/cylinders in the rear with drums coated. Front disc brakes, coated calipers.
Interior
Wood wheel and matching shift knob, original dash, console deleted and retrofitted to pre-70's plastic console. Recent floor mats, original seats. Awesome radio and door speakers. Rear hatch carpet and seat.
Exterior
Brand new chrome grille with chrome bumpers and rubber insert overriders. Fresh coat of metallic red paint with trim delete. Bubbles in some areas and is not the best paint job but looks great unless looking for it up close.
