1947/8 racing MG TC
Here is a wonderful opportunity to own an iconic British MG from the vertical grill era of roadsters.
Beautiful 1947 or early 1948 MG TC in British Racing Green. I have owned and raced this car for the past 16 years in vintage races at Road America and Blackhawk Farms with the VSCDA (Vintage Sports Car Drivers Association). The car has been professionally maintained by Browndeer Race group and has its complete racing log.
The car is in racing livery, right hand drive and is stock. No major alterations to carburetor or gear ratios, and no blowers added on, etc. and is street legal. A roll bar was added for safety. The years of race entrance stickers are attached to the roll bar and attest to its racing history. Additionally, a five point seat belt and shoulder harness was installed. I raced this car as stock.
The body is solid and rust free as are all the under car parts. The paint has a good shine and is in overall very good condition. There are some minor chips and scratches as you would expect in a car that has been enjoyed and driven for many years. This is not a “don’t touch” show car or a flashy rebuilt California via China parts car. This is an honest to goodness British sports car to be proudly driven and enjoyed.
The interior is in very good condition and the original black leather seats have no rips or tears. All the gauges and switches function as they should.
Other features are the wire wheels, monogrammed spare tire and tonneau cover.
This car has been lovingly maintained by the current owner. It has been warm garaged during the winters and basically driven each year May through September on lovely sunny days. The car is located in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.
The condition overall is excellent. The exterior is British Racing Green and the interior is black and the odometer reads at 7,035 miles and is unknown if actual or not. This car was purchased out of a high end collection. As is of the TCs, it is a 2 door convertible/cabriolet style car with a front mounted engine powering the rear wheels. The engine is 1250 cc, naturally aspirated, overhead valve, 4 cylinder developing 65bhp.
This is an honest, wonderful, sexy, fun British sports car that will give the new owner many years of service and pride of ownership.
The car runs absolutely great and is my baby that I hope goes to a really good home. I really hate to sell it but must due to stage four lung cancer. Car is titled free and clear in Wisconsin and all other associated costs such as transportation, etc., are the responsibility of the buyer.
