West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this beautiful 1968 MGB Mark II 1800cc Convertible restored in a very striking 'Royal Blue' color paint with a striking interior of 'Dark Gray & Black' seats and black carpets, a new black soft top, a very desirable 4 speed manual transmission with electric overdrive and original wire wheels! All the options are working as they should including all gauges and lights and the car boasts it original 'knock off' wheels ma...llet, spare wheel, luggage rack and a full weather tonneau cover! This is obviously one very rare and highly desirable example of this classic British sports car - a beautiful example of the legendary chrome bumper Mark II MGB roadster! The trunk, floor boards, rocker panels and all the typically rust prone areas are all completely solid and rust free and the chrome is all as new, the bright stainless trim along the flanks doesn't allow for any sloppy panel alignment and the body is impressively straight all around. The 'Royal Blue' color paint is in great condition with no signs of overspray, obviously painted professionally with no expense spared! The interior is also virtually flawless with beautiful new 'Dark Gray/Blakc' cloth seats and new carpets, a lovely wrapped steering wheel and wooden stick shift lever and original and still quite lovely 'Smiths' gauges to enhance its old world flavor. The soft top is also as new with a crystal clear rear window. The wire wheels are also new as are the chrome bumpers and grille. This car truly has to be seen to be appreciated and driven to be believed - drives like it must have when brand new! The engine purrs quietly under the hood and the 4 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through the gears - an absolute pleasure to drive! The temperature always remains cool and there are no noticeable oil leaks. The car will be sold with all its recent service history for the last few years at a renown British Car specialist in Tucson, AZ showing that at no time was any expense spared on this particular car's preventive maintenance. The car has received a recent full tune up and service, new clutch master & slave cylinder, battery, oil and radiator service etc. The simple uncluttered lines of the early MGB's were never improved by later revisions (the MGB line survived until 1980) and it is still these early chrome bumper models, which were a sturdy, straight forward sports car with features that will fascinate enthusiasts for decades to come, that are most sought after by MG enthusiasts and collectors. There was no denying the appeal of the MGB which in almost all respects; performance, comfort, space and convenience was a distinct improvement on its predecessor, the MGA and despite of little or no profits being returned to British Leyland, the model enjoyed record sales for the company. Without a doubt you will look long and hard to find a finer example of this rare piece of British motoring history - perfect for the MG enthusiast or any classic British car collector!
