1973 MG MGB Matching Numbers MGB Additional Info:

For your consideration, we have a 1973 matching numbers, unmolested, MGB Roadster still in its original paint donning its original spare key in the engine compartment. A rust free, California car that is currently registered and titled. Purchased by the current owner in 2007 from the 1st owner who had sparingly driven the car before selling it. Since under second ownership this roadster has been regularly serviced and garage kept throughout its stay in California, MGB’s in this sort of condition are becoming harder and harder to find.

The exterior original Limeflower paint is in excellent condition considering its age, it is evident that this MG has spent every night tucked in a garage and has not been exposed to any weather. Being that it’s a California car rust is not an issue. There are minor imperfections to the paint in places that I have tried to display in pictures, but nothing that is extraordinarily eye catching. The body has good fit and gap throughout and is complete with all chrome trim. There is a small dent on the rear right fender and another small indentation on the driver’s side door, and passengers side door which are so minor that it was nearly impossible to capture it in pictures. There is also an indentation on the front of bonnet that is well hidden by the badge plinth. The glass is clear without any major issues, besides a small divot in the windshield. All rubber seals are intact and look great. The chrome bumpers are shiny and unblemished with attractive chrome overidders that really suit the car. The black convertible top is original and in decent condition, the fit is good, however, the side sockets that the top sits in to secure it to the body need to be replaced, and there is a small tear at the seam. With the top down the boot cover is also original and fits very well. This MGB sits upon 4 wire wheels with good tires that look to have lots of life left in them. There is also a spare in the trunk along with a tool roll, jack stand, boot cover, and car cover that will come with the sale of this roadster.

The interior is tidy and complete with original panels, and original navy blue seats which was a typical color combination for a 1973 MGB with Limeflower paint. The black carpeting throughout the car is excellent, and the drivers and passengers side carpets are MG crested. The dash cap is almost perfect with only a minor crack that is easily overlooked because the interior is just so immaculate. The windows roll up and down so easily, it could only come this way from a factory unmolested MGB. I don’t know that I’ve sat in a nicer MG, because believe me, this one is absolutely lovely.

Electrically this roadster is sound. The interior map light, seat belt buzzer, headlights high and low beam, sidelights, reverse lights, and brake lights all work properly. Also the indicators work and self cancel as they should. The windshield wipers are also functional.

From cold, this MGB starts right up with the pull of the choke, and the engine has a happy and healthy sound to it. The clutch is working very nicely, and this MG shifts easily through gears without any grinding. The steering is tight and responsive and does not pull in either direction upon braking. The brakes are very responsive, and the pedal feels firm without any signs of sinking. The gauges show good oil pressure, and it does not overheat. The speedo, tach, and fuel gauges all seem to read accurately. This car has recently had the carburetors rebuilt, along with new fuel filters installed, and has all new shock absorbers both front and rear along with new axle straps and shock links at the rear.

Overall this is one of the finest MGB roadster’s I have come across in quite some time. It has been well taken care of and clearly loved by its first two owners. A very original, rust free, survivor that hasn’t been modified and molested is becoming harder and harder to find, so bid to win this MGB roadster that will surely put a smile on your face and turn heads driving around the town. Bid with confidence as we have sold hundreds of classic cars on EBay with 100% positive feedback. As always, I would advise inspecting the car in person if at all possible.
