1951 MG T-Series Additional Info:

Original Unmolested 1951 MG TD

This car is a virtual time capsule, barn find, nearly 64 years young. Built and exported to North America (Canada) in 25-July-1951. This the first time this car has been offered for sale.

You are looking at an intact, original car. All of the original numbers match including the matching VIN and motor (http://tregister.org/search_prod.php). Also, the amazing part about this car is how good the original wood and condition of the body. It appears that this is an accident-free, no rust car.

The most recent history as told by the second owner’s daughters is that this car is perhaps a two owner car! The second and most recent owner now deceased purchased the car in Canada in the early 70’s and drove it to the United States of America. The car has been in the family since.

About the car. In the past five years the car has been garaged and services performed:

· The gas tank cleaned and sealed, including new fuel tank sending unit and fuel lines

· Original SU carburetors rebuilt

· Clean and reassemble rocker assembly units new valve cover gasket

· Complete tune-up, including New Spark Plug Wires and Spark Plugs, cap., point and rotor

· Replace all filters

· Replacement of original fabric wiring harness both primary and secondary and replacement of headlight harness.

· Complete radiator flush with the new replacement upper and lower hose sets thermostat and gaskets

· Conversion to screw-on type oil filter

· Replacement of rear axle gear oil in original axle.

· A bushing kit for rear springs new shackle plates, and axle U-bolts and new rear springs. Also, new rear shock absorbers, tie rod ends and wheel bearings.

· Rebuild of master and wheel cylinders complete new brake hose lines and shoes

· Recently started and ran beautifully - and new battery March 25, 2016

· The receipts for this work total, $11,315.00

Mechanically the car runs and drives like it should. Mechanically it is in very good condition. The body is excellent but needs to be restored, needs a new top also. We believe that this is an original red with the black interior color scheme. (http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtd/mgtd_finishes.htm).
