1980 MG MGB Additional Info:
I went to buy a 1971 VW super Beetle, stored in a garage.Owner had this 1980 MG covered in the corner.Pulled off cover...This is what was revealed!NO RUSTHe had the car painted this light gold color. All new carpeting installedNew Convertible top, a couple of snaps torn away.New tires.Has the snap cover that closes off passenger seat and back. leaving only the driver seat open. I will try and get pictures of it installed. He said, it has not been started for 8 months. After charging the battery, it fired up with no smoke or burning oil.It did sputter a bit...foul gas?Drove down the road o, shifted gears ok.Put it on the trailer and brought it home.
UPDATE...12/13/2016 I replaced the plugsDrained and flushed radiatorOrdered new pointsMounted drivers seat.I was surprised how nice it handled the road and curves....lots of fun to drive.
He was going to have the electrical issues fixed...maybe fuses, bad wire or a switch. I'm looking into why no inside lights, and heater fan motor, but I don't make any promises. The passenger's seat needs redone. I found real replacement covers(2) on Ebay for $130 ship to you from England.
Sorry no motor pictures yet, still trying to figure out how the hood opens again?Never had one before, SO ANY HELPFUL TIPS would help. I tried Utube with no help. Can feel a latch under front of hood, but does not release it...
As like my other Ebay items, You are responsible for pickup and or delivery to you. Car sold as-is, no returns. needs minor work, should tow, if going long distance.
I know the trending price based on what's listed. That is why I'm offering this at a very fair price...THIS IS A SOLID no rust BODY CAR...that would be a great little sports car, with just a little TLC.
OH...the 1971 VW Super beetle. I'm picking up next Wednesday, Just might keep that one, If I sell the Sand Rail, listed on ebay.Wife just wants money to pay bills....what fun is that?
