1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT Additional Info:
I am selling my 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT. This car has been off the road for several years now and needs a complete restoration, but is an easy project that is complete. I purchased this Cyclone from the original owner who bought it new at Jack Davis Mercury in Winston-Salem, NC. It is equipped with the correct 390 GT engine, although not the original, and the original top loader 4-speed transmission. The engine turns freely, but I have not cranked it yet. It is a red car with white bucket seat interior. The console is in excellent condition. The rust issues are minor with this car. The frame rails front, front and rear, are in great shape. The left torque box has a hole in the bottom panel only. It does not need replacement, only a repair made. The right torque box is fine. I have pictures of both listed. The floors have small rust holes in various areas, also pictured, but are not completely eaten away. The lower quarters have very minor issues as do the corners of the doors. Again, there is no way that I would replace these items, only make the necessary small repairs. The fiberglass hood is excellent with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. It also retains the hard to find hood springs that are lighter weight to compensate for the light hood. The 4-speed radiator is also the original. You will notice in the photos that it also has the hard to find Cyclone valve covers and the Holley 715 carb. The wheels and chrome revers hubcaps are also the correct items. I have a few other photos of the car if interested. I have this car listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end this listing at any time. This is a very hard to find classic car that deserves to be restored. It is being sold as is. Anyone is welcome and invited to see the car while the auction is running. I am available at any time that is convenient for you. Buyer is responsible for transporting the car to it's new home. Payment must be made within seven days of auction's end, but the car can remain here as long as necessary for transportation arrangements to be made. this is a NO RESERVE auction. Thanks for looking
