1969 Mercury Cougar Additional Info:
This cougar started out as a Georgia car and somehow made its way to Washington. As far as I know, it never spent time in the rust-belt states. I purchased it in 1996 from a lady in Vancouver, Washington, who collected cougars. She had acquired another classic and needed to make room in her garage, so she put the '69 up for sale. I've had a lot of fun with this car in the last twenty years, but I'm recently retired and bought a van so that I could go camping this summer, and I don't need another vehicle.
This car is almost completely original with all the trim pieces and chrome on the car in good condition. It's got the stock 351 Windsor V-8, the stock tranny, the original cougar hubcaps, dual exhaust, recently rechromed rear bumper, new control arms, and four new tires. I put a Holley 4-barrel carb on it because it runs better with the Holley, but I still have the stock Autolite carb, which goes with the car. The hideaway headlights and sequential turn signals work. I added a Kenwood stereo and a car alarm. About the only other parts that aren't stock are the rear-view mirrors, antenna, windshield wipers, and electronic ignition (the car used to have points.)
The car looks good and runs fine. Check out the pictures. It could be your next daily driver.
Regarding cosmetic issues, there is a long scratch on the passenger side near the front, a small dent just in front of the passenger door, a couple of scratches in the vinyl top, and the driver's seat is cracked. The only mechanical problem I am aware of is that the car is leaking brake fluid around the right rear brake drum. There is rust around the tailpipes, under the vinyl top, in the trunk on the driver's side, and around the floorboards.
The car is in Mount Vernon, Washington. Buyer must arrange to pick up the vehicle.
A deposit of 20% of the vehicle's value will be required upfront.
The seller requires either a cash payment or a bank to bank wire transfer and the purchaser must accompany the seller to the seller's bank branch to complete one of the on the day of pickup.
The seller is attempting to sell this car locally and will withdraw this listing if a sale occurs.
