We are selling our 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis. It is in excellent condition. That isn't a typo on the mileage. It only has 11,426 miles. We bought it 2 years ago with 9.985 miles and we hardly drive it.
I love the car, ut obviously we don't need it, ince we have driven less than 1500 miles in 2 years. The photos of the outside of the car are from a few months ago. I was going to sell it then, ut changed my mind. The inside pictures were taken last week. It looks great, ut it does need to be vacuumed, t has just been too cold outside right now.
I purchased the car from an estate in 2014. It belonged to a little old lady in Olney, L, hat passed away about 10 years ago. I was told that they did get the car out of the garage, nd drive it around the block a few times in the last 10 years. When we bought it, he license plates on it were from 2000, nd it had a handicap placard, hat you hang from the mirror, hat expired in June 1998. Obviously, he didn't drive it very much between 1992 and 2000 either, o it has spent most of it's life in the garage. She had covers over the seats, nd in the truck, nd the old Cadillac floor mats that are in there now were covering the stock floor mats.
It has no rust, ven looks great underneath. It runs and drives perfect. When I got the car, removed the gas tank, leaned it out, ut in a new fuel pump, ew fuel filter, nd a new battery, nd it started right up. We have also put new tires on it, romTirerack, bout 1000 miles ago. One of the center caps for the wheels is a replacement, hen I bought the tires I had Walmart mount and balance them, nd lost a center cap somewhere on the way home. I touched up a paint chip on the drivers door, nd three small ones on the passenger door. There are pictures of them, nd i will included the touch up paint. I would say that the one on the drivers door was about 3mm in diameter, nd close to the key hole. There are three small chips, ll together, n the passenger door that are about 1mm and less, nd below the mirror. In the picture of the three small ones, or a size reference, n the top of the picture is the pin stripe on the passenger side. The horn doesn't work, nd the trip meter doesn't work, ut the odometer does. Everything else on the car works great. Since we have owned the car, e did have the drivers window stop working. There are 3 small plastic pieces, bout the size of a marshmallow, hat transfer power from the motor to the gears. The original ones are hollow, nd i guess they can get brittle over time. I replaced those 3 plastic pieces, nd it works great now. i also have a spare set, n case it happens to another window in the future. I also have an extra fuel pump for it. The first one I bought was the pump only, nd after installing it the fuel gauge didn't work, o I replaced the whole fuel pump, nd the assembly that includes the gauge, ith a new one.
I love to travel in this car. It rides great, t's comfortable, nd gets 25 mpg on the highway. For a full size, ull frame vehicle that's great. I don't think they even make any full frame cars any more. It doesn't have abs or traction control, r hardly any of the other electronic things on new cars that often go bad. It has one air bag in the steering wheel. You know these cars are reliable and tough, ust look at all of the police cars and taxis that used the Crown Vic, nd drove them for 200,000 to 300,000 miles, r more. If you are looking at this listing, hen you probably already know that. You just can't get cars like this anymore.
