NO. That is why at Classic Cars Online, our listings will go over and show every area of the vehicle that is up for auction. Description: Written by the Owner. Body & Paint: This XR7 convertible was re-painted in its original "Platinum" (Diamond Blue) color. (Code N) It was painted about six years ago with a base coat/clear coat finish. Originally a southern car for the first 27 years and never driven after that in the winter months, the car doesn't have any rust problems. It still retains all of its original body panels/floor pans with no metal patches or repairs. The paint has a great shine and doesn't seem to have any paint flaws. There are no dents, door dings or scratches on the body. The body panel alignment and gaps are all good. (The hood is about 1/8 inch off on the passenger side which I'm sure can easily be adjusted.) Convertible Top: The black convertible top is in very good condition without any rips, holes or marks. The rear plastic window was updated to glass and is in great condition. The power top goes up and down properly with no problems with the pump motor or hydraulic system. The vehicle comes with two different convertible boot covers. (Blue that matches the interior color.) Exterior Chrome/Trim: The chrome and trim are original to the vehicle and has never been re-chrome. There is no pitting, scratches, or oxidation. The stainless steel trim is in very nice condition. The only piece that has a ding/dent is the header piece that runs along the top of the windshield. It probably could be popped out. (This dent is only visible when the convertible top is down.) Interior: The medium blue interior is original and is in very good condition. (Code: 6B) There are no rips or cracks in the seats. The XR7 models have a combination of leather and vinyl. This vehicle has front bucket seats with a center console and floor shifter. There were a few small cracks in the plastic arm rests, but they were filled/repaired. The XR7 models also originally had toggle switches which were a nice European touch. The gauges, wipers, lights, power seat, along with the factory AM/FM stereo radio are all working. The clock is not currently working. The vehicle is equipped with factory Air Conditioning that will need to be recharged or converted to the newer R134a freon. The vehicle still has what I believe to be the original tri-color striped floor mats. Tilt steering wheel. Engine Compartment: Under the hood sits the original 351 Cleveland engine with a two barrel carburetor. It only has 76,566 miles on it and has never been taken apart or rebuilt. It doesn't burn oil, smoke, tick, or leak. The automatic transmission doesn't slip, jerk, or leak. The engine compartment still has the original look that hasn't been modified or played around with. I replaced the battery and battery box last year. (Replaced battery box because of minor corrosion.) Power Steering, Power Brakes, Air Conditioning, 351-2V Engine. Trunk Compartment: The trunk compartment is very solid and stock looking. The jack and jacking tools along with the spare tire are all in their proper places. The original trunk mat is still installed. Glass: There are no cracks in any of the glass pieces. There is a slight wiper mark on the drivers side of the windshield. All of the power windows are working without any problems. Wheels & Tires: The factory wheels and hubcaps were swapped out for a set of 14" chrome Magnum 500 wheels in 2007. (The original wheels/hubcaps will also go along with the sale of the vehicle.) Mounted on these Magnum 500 wheels are radial white wall tires with 5,000 miles on them. All of the wheels and tires are in great condition. Frame & Undercarriage: The underside of this South Carolina vehicle is very solid and rust free. It retains all it original sheet metal. (Floor pans, trunk pans, body panels.) It's clean but not detailed. (Original looking after 45 years.) A new dual Flow Master exhaust system was installed about 4,000 miles ago. It sounds great. Documents & Paperwork: All of the original registrations from the original owner, Mr. Park, in South Carolina dating back to 2/10/71 until when I purchased the vehicle in 1998. I also have the 1971 owners' manual, AM/FM stereo radio manual, warranty facts booklet along with all the sales brochures. The vehicle took first place in its class at an AACA meet.
