1969 R-Code 428CJ-RAM AIR/C6 Mercury Cougar.

If you're looking at this you know what it is. Only a couple hundred built. A tiny handful still exist. You would be quite lucky to even find another as solid as this car. IT IS VERY SOLID, AND NEEDS MINIMAL BODY WORK.. Originally sold on the west coast.

Car was built November 1968.

Engine dated mid-68. Machine work has been done on block and heads. I believe the block just needs final honing. Missing ex. manifolds, carb, distributor, power accessories, ram air base. Comes with C6 trans, 9 inch rear, new bearing kit, ring kit, new gasket kit, valves, oil pump, pan. Misc. hardware. I'll look again, in case I'm missing anything.

In the past year, there's been a very rusty 1970 Boss 302 Mustang listed, without a Boss engine, and an asking price of 29,500.. There's also been a very rusty 69 R-code Cougar missing the engine, listed for 18,000..

My first 2 cars I had in high school were a 67 Cougar that I got for $25 back in 1976, and a 1970 Cougar that I had when I graduated in 1978! Needless to say I'm a big Cougar fan, but I have so many cars, I just don't have time for all of them.

Make me a solid offer for this solid car. Come with your own truck and trailer. I don't trust the hotshot transport drivers. Over the last 4 or 5 cars I've recieved or shipped, only 1 spoke english at all, and they can't communicate or follow directions..

Update 9/15/26:: The pick-up must be coordinated with my work schedule which is busy. I will make every effort to accommodate the buyer, but my job has priority..
