1978 Mercury Z-7

1978 MERCURY ZEPHYR Z-7 COUPE
Have owned this car since 2007. Bought as just a body. Added a 6 cylinder rebuilt engine and automatic transmission I would say this engine has less than 5,000 miles on it, power steering, sunroof, A/C, power windows, power door locks, AM/FM 8-track radio, gauges, bucket seats and an alarm system. Most added items need rewired. Has been converted to rear disk brakes. The 14' front and 15" rear Goodyear tires were bought shortly before I stopped driving it in 2020 during Covid. Replaced all springs, suspension, steering parts and exhaust system in 2007.
Car runs great. It is registered as "non-op" in California. Has a clean title. Won several trophy's at car shows over the years. Only drove to and from car shows for 12 years.
Needs repainted. The trunk lid paint has all cracked. Roof has rust spots from where the chrome that I never had was mounted. The hood has spots and chips on it from things that come from the freeway in my back yard. The only body work I did was in the trunk. There was a rust hole in the inner corner channel under the lid. All chrome is in great condition. I have all emblems for the car including the ones that have fallen off. Added real wood to the door panels and that has come loose and is coming off. Black bucket seat trim is faded. Drivers seat has worn spot on side from getting in and out. Dash pad has some cracking. Will supply a different one if wanted. Headliner is not attached. Have removed the rust from the wheel trim rings. Have the metal from the sunroof if you want to take it out.
