1964 Mercury Park Lane Additional Info:
1964 MERCURY PARK LANE CONVERTIBLE. MERCURY ONLY MADE 1,967 PARK LANE CONVERTIBLES IN 1964, SO I WOULD CONSIDER IT QUITE RARE. THIS CAR IS A DRIVER THAT HAS BEEN MILDLY CUSTOMIZED, AND WOULD MAKE A GREAT CAR TO RESTORE. PAINT HAS LOTS OF LACQUER CHECKING, BUT FROM 20 FEET BACK, IT LOOKS PRETTY SHARP. FLOORS ARE PRETTY SOLID, WITH A FEW SMALL PATCHES. TRUNK PAN LOOKS RUST FREE. CAR HAS A REBUILT 390 ENGINE THAT RUNS VERY STRONG. THE LEFT SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS SOME GASKET LEAKING. THE CAR HAS DUAL EXHAUST THAT COMES OUT OF THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CHROME LAKE PIPES ON THE SIDE ARE DUMMYS. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY GOOD. P/S AND P/B WORK WELL. ALL DASH GAUGES WORK, AS WELL AS ALL THE LIGHTS. CAR HAS NO COVERING MATERIAL ON THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. FRONT BUCKETS ARE ORIGINAL 1964 MERCURY, BUT THE REAR SEAT IS FROM A 1963 GALAXIE CONVERTIBLE. I WAS ABLE TO FIND A NOS REAR SEAT LOWER COVER IN BLUE, WHICH COULD BE DYED WHITE, OR USED FORA PATTERN. I FOUND A FLOOR CONSOLE, WHICH HAS THE WRONG SHIFT PLATE. I HAVE THE CARPETING, WHICH I TOOKUP TO SHOW HOW SOLID THE FLOORS ARE. THIS CAR WILL NEED SOME REPAIRS, BUT IT IS A GREAT FOUNDATION TO START WITH. I THINK ITS A REALLY COOL LOOKING CAR, AND IT CAN BECRUISED WITH ITS CURRENT PAINT, BUT IT WILL NEED A CONVERTIBLE TOP NOW.
