1954 Mercury Monarch Sun Valley Lucerne Additional Info:

Ford used the term Skyliner for it top of the line 1954 and 1956 models, which featured a Glass Top. The sky-view transparent top is actually a front roof section of blue-green tinted, 1/4-in thick, molded, acrylic-plastic (not Plexiglas). It is weather-sealed and unaffected by heat, cold, or moisture. The Owner's Manual states that it can be washed with water and soap, polished with Luster-Seal Haze Cream, and that a Ford dealership can remove scratches. Included was an interior pull-out, 2-section, 3-zipper, adjustable, aluminized nylon sunshade curtain.

These are among the most Iconic Fords of the 50's, and have always been highly prized by collectors. The Mercury Version is called the Sun Valley, and of course Canadian Dealers wanted a model to sell as well, so the Meteor and Lucerne were built for Canadian Delivery. Production was 13,344 Fords, 9,761 Sun Valley, 385 Meteors and Approx. 200 Lucerne's, about 10 of which are known to survive.

This Well preserved example is in overall very good condition. The car starts right up, runs smooth. shifts well. and stops well. The Paint is in very good condition with a few minor scrapes that are easily touched up, the body work is very good with no dents noted and the Chrome is very nice with no dents in the stainless trim. The Interior is in fine nick with no rips or tears, all the options seem to work well, even the very rare rear window wiper. This is a really neat car with lots of special badging and trim all of which is present. The car is well equipped with Power Windows. Fender Skirts and Continental Kit.

This is a stylish car that is sure to stump even the most seasoned car show attendee when it appears at your local cruise in Car Show.

This is an almost unique opportunity to acquire the rarest of the Ford Glass Top cars, don't let it pass you by.
