1987 Mercury Grand Marquis COLONY PARK LS Additional Info:

1987 Mercury Station Wagon. I am second owner my mother was original owner. Has been in previous accidents. Right front quarter panel was hit real hard many years ago. It was repaired by a body shop. Frame is bent and car still has some issues such as engine fan rubs on fan shroud at times. Left rear quarter panel was hit when car was parked and had minor damage no repairs were done. Roof had roof rails on it for luggage that rusted through at attachment points. I glued some metal plates over holes to stop leaking from rain. Some body rot here and there. Radio works but will hit and miss when changing volume. Has some good speakers. Passenger door won't open from outside but opens from inside, don't know why. Lots of little things like that. Windows have some issues going up and down too.Tires are good, 2 front tires were made in 2015, 2 rear tires and spare were made in 2018. All tires are hankook same model. Spare never on the road. Had a low brake pedal a few years ago and thought the master cylinder was bad. Replaced it and that didn't help. It turned out that it had a hole in the left rear brake line due to it rubbing on the frame for many years and wearing through.I bought some bulk brake line and cut out the bad section, did a double flare on the ends and rerouted the left rear portion of the line and reconnected with a union. No problems since. Just letting you know.Catalytic converters were replace in 2014 with new ones and are on the California State list for this car. Registration is current and a smog check was done on 8-3-2023 and it passed. Smog test is good for 90 days.Car needs to be serviced and would recommend replacing hoses and belts. I would not consider this a commuter car for a family. More likely something like an old woody where the surfers bought old station wagons that had issues cheap and used them to get to the beach. Lots of room for surfboards and getting in with a wet wetsuit would not be a problem. Car has a 302 Ford V8 engine that runs real strong.Engine is completely stock. All smog stuff is there. New charcoal canister replaced a few years ago.Lots of metal in this car for protection. My mother walked away from a pretty serious accident when the right front quarter panel was hit.
