1950 Mercury Sport CoupeHISTORY:Originally from Oakland CA and was built in Los Angeles in December of 1950. The third owner purchased the car when it was traded in to a dealership in Vallejo California. He owned the car for 25 years and frequently showed it in the Oakland Roadster show. The car was sold to a couple in Salt Lake City after 25 years. We just acquired this beauty 6 weeks ago with intentions of keeping it, however circumstances have changed and we are forced to sell.MECHANICAL:Complete flathead rebuild by Roger Nelson in Salt Lake City. This included block being hot tanked and magnafluxed, block and heads resurfaced, and engine rotating assembly balanced. Complete valvetrain assembly replaced to include Isky Max-1 camshaft, Johnson adjustable lifters, valves and hard valve seats. Egge pistons, rings, connecting rods, bearings, and Melling M-19 high volume oil pump were installed.Front and rear suspension upgraded, A Jamco Products 49-51 Mercury Deluxe Lowering Kit (2" lowered front coils, 3" lowered rear leaf springs, shocks, new bushings and shackles) and a 2" custom rear lowering blocks were installed. Upper and lower A-arm components replaced with new old stock parts. Front drag link was replaced.6 volt generator rebuilt as well as new plugs and wires. the electrical system has had Pertronix electronic distributor and coil upgrade.3 speed transmission has been cleaned and reconditioned. New synchronizers, clutch, throw out bearing, and front and rear U joints replaced.Brake system upgrade to include re-turned drums, brake shoes replaced, new brake cylinders and hoses, new master cylinder.2" dual exhaust has been replaced with an aluminumized tube to include Smitty mufflers.Front fenders, doors, and hood re aligned. Firewall and radiator support cleaned and re painted. (Note front body alignment and firewall-radiator restoration were NOT due to accident or damage.
