1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT Factory S Code 390 V8 Fiberglass Hood Automatic South Jersey Classics is pleased to present this 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone390 GT for your consideration. While Mercury will always be known for their impressive run as luxury car manufacturers, there are a few moments where they threw their hat in the muscle car arena. In 1966, using the midsize Comet platform, engineers put their collective heads together to develop the Comet Cyclone and Cyclone GT. A head-snapping 390 V8 went along with stacked headlights and (all GT's came with) a fiberglass hood with dual scoops to announce its presence with authority. Compared to other muscle cars of these years, the Cyclone was costly and sales never really took off. However, collectors appreciate the Cyclone GT as a true 60's muscle example with true performance and awesome style. Many will also remember the 100 Indy Pace Cars produced that year. The Comet Cyclone GT shows well in Blue with a white interior. The white vinyl interior shows well and appears mostly original. Highlights include bucket seats, center console, dash mounted tachometer, jack and full size spare tire, AM/FM radio and more. According to the last owner, the original 390 has been rebuilt, the car comes with receipts backing this up. The car is powered by a 390 v8 that runs well. Exterior was repainted about 15yrs ago and was driver quality and is showing signs of age. The car functions as it should. This is a great car for the money and is sure to leave a smile on your face.
