1968 Mercury Monterey Additional Info:
Up for auction is a '68 Mercury Monterey convertible. One of 1,515.This particular car has the very rare power vent window option.Factory red with red interior. 390, automatic transmission, power steering, power front disc brakes, power side AND vent windows and a power trunk( also a rare option ).The car is complete but needs total restoration. The engine has water in the oil from sitting uncovered for years with no front clip.
The car was wrecked in the front at some point, but still has a clean title. I purchased it without a front clip, but was able to piece one together from the extra parts included with the car.The hood is stuck shut, as is the passenger door. The driver door does not latch. The trunk lock is missing and the keys were missing when I bought the car.
I believe the engine is original to the car.
The hood and front fenders need work. The driver side rear floor pan needs repair.I believe the car is original to the west coast and does not appear to have salt damage.
An excellent complete front clip I pulled from a low mileage '68 Park Lane in 2004 is included with the car for the selling price.
The price for the car without the front clip is $1250.
A $50 non-refundable paypal deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end.The balance due in cash or certified bank check at time of pick up.
The car is located in Salem,OR approx one mile from Interstate 5.
No shipping.Winning bidder is responsible for transportation cost.Vehicle zip code for shipping quotes is 97317.Winning bidder has two weeks to pick up the vehicle unless other arrangements are made.
