1959 Mercury Monterey Cruiser Additional Info:
Great Summer Project you can drive and enjoy while restoring. Clear Florida Title in my name. 383 Big Block, starts easily, sounds good, idles with 40 lb oil pressure, see photo.
Generator charges also, see gauge. Has been in storage 1 1/2 years and excessive medical bills must be paid, Mercury must go. Previous owner cleaned gas tank, installed new brake lines and brakes was what I was told when I bought the car, reconditioned the radiator and put on a new starter solenoid. Strong sounding engine does not smoke. I have never insured or licensed the car or drove on the highway. Only drove it in and out of storage and up and down the quiet street I live on to keep everything working. Power steering and brakes. Power steering cylinder leaks when sitting but is working. Exhaust pipe is loose where entering the muffler so a little noisy. Tires are old and unsafe. Driver side vent window cracked and driver side flat rear window has a rock chip, see photos. Doors shut tight and no sag. All windows roll up and down easily. Body is straight and solid as shown with a minor ding left rear and minor lower body rust that would be an easy fix. Right front fender has rust above the headlights and I have acquired a brand new U.S. made fender cap to make repair, see photo. Nothing missing other than the cigarette lighter knob and a very small section of the grill on left front as shown. Dual rear view fender mirrors. Floors are solid. Trunk floor needs some repair at wheel well, does not need the complete floor replaced. Door panels, seats and upholstery are original and still very usable. Chrome piece on right rear above bumper will need to be replaced. This car was from Nebraska. Keep in mind this is not a show car, is not restored, is not safe for highway driving on the old tires and has absolutely no warranty expressed or implied. What I know is in this add and described to the best of my knowledge. I am no expert. Make viewing the photos and your budget your guide. Pictures better describe the car than I can. Sale is final with no refund or return. If you don't want a project this is not for you. Buyer is responsible for arranging shipping and cost involved. Car starts and runs and will drive onto a trailer for transport. All funds must be received and clear my bank before the car or title will be released. Deposit only by pay pal, balance by wire transfer preferred. Would like car to be picked up within two weeks if possible. I do reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Thank you
