Extremely rare 1971 Cougar XR7 429 ram air
Numbers matching engine and transmission
Of the 231 Cougars built with 429 ram air, only 157 were XR7 coupes. This one was ordered by a Canadian dealer as a “dealer demonstrator” with every available factory option from the electric sun roof to the engine block heater. Of all the Cougars built, only 0.6% had the sun roof. This completely optioned Cougar is likely the highest priced Cougar built for the 1971 model year with a suggested retail price of $7,237.50 in December 1970.
Owned since 2003 when I bough it with 57547 miles. Ground up restoration completed in 2011
