1973 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Additional Info:
Selling my project Merceds 280C. It has a new weber carb (still have the original Solex in trunk) and it does run but it needs attention. It runs pretty good after it warms up, but before its fully warm it pops and spits a bit. I have never seen oil smoke or smelled buring oil from the exhaust of this car. Seems the issue is in the valves or maybe leaky intake gasket. It drives and shifts very smoothly. There is rust underneath (rocker panels, flooring). I do not have the time to keep going with it. This car would need to be trailered, it hasnt been on the road since 2001. The mileage is supposed to be original but I can't proove it. Power windors work, light, turn signals etc. but the AC does not blow cold, not a surprise since it has been off the road so long.
