1984 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class SL Additional Info:
Background on this car:In 2014 I was asked to meet with an out of town gentleman about a car. His elderly mother had been ill and passed away. Her house had been sold and all contents removed except for her car in the garage. The car had not been registered for many years. I purchased the car not knowing anything about the car history. After having it towed home, I did the following:*drained old fuel*installed new fuel filter*replaced oil and filter*installed new battery* installed new spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor,The car started right up and ran much better then expected. As part of the unknown history, I can see the car has had the muffler and convertor replaced as well as been repainted. I made the car my daily driver and was replacing anything that giving me a problem. First to go was the old 14" tires, replaced with new 16" wheels on 225/55R16 Firestone Firehawks on front with 245/50R16 on the rear. A/C was replaced and is now set up for R134. Other items changed were the alternator, brake master cylinder, stereo, speakers, front shocks, sway bar end links, and fuel accumulator. The last 2 pictures show 2 issues with the car. The first is a wear spot on the convertible roof from when it is down under the rear cover and the second are two cracks in the dash on top.I recently bought a truck for work and have not been driving the car as much and decided to sell. The car has the removable hard top and I have the original stereo and wheels/tires that were removed. Let me know if you have any questions.
